Court Orders Final Forfeiture of Aisha Achimugu’s ₦8.9bn Assets to Federal Government

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, has ordered the final forfeiture of assets valued at approximately ₦8.9 billion and linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

The forfeited assets comprise jewellery valued at ₦4.65 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth ₦4.29 billion, $50,000, and ₦30 million in cash.

Justice Onwugbuzie issued the order while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which sought the final forfeiture of the assets.

The EFCC argued that the assets were proceeds of unlawful activities and urged the court to order their permanent forfeiture to the Federal Government.

Granting the application, Justice Onwugbuzie ordered that the jewellery, vehicles, and cash be finally forfeited to the Federal Government.

More details to follow.
