APC Chairman Demands Arrest of Kwankwaso Over Security Threats

The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, has called for the arrest of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, labeling him a threat to state security. This follows Kwankwaso’s accusations that the previous administration fostered Boko Haram terrorists and misled the Federal Government to destabilize Kano.
Kwankwaso made these allegations during a speech at the flag-off of an 85-kilometer road construction in his hometown, Madobi. In response, Abbas urged security agencies to arrest Kwankwaso so he could provide names of those he claimed were undermining the state.
Abbas stressed that no threats from Kwankwaso would intimidate the federal government. “We urge security agents to arrest him so he reveals the identities of those he claims are recruiting Boko Haram terrorists,” he said. Abbas also accused the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) of planning to create unrest in Kano.
Abbas further alleged that Kwankwaso has a history of security threats, running a movement accused of recruiting youths to terrorize the state. He also claimed that since the controversial enthronement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Emir, armed thugs have been stationed at the emir’s palace, posing a danger to residents.
