The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the list of top scorers in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a University of Lagos applicant emerging as the highest-scoring candidate.

At the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday, JAMB announced that Ekiti-born Owoeye Jesudunsin, who sat for the examination in Ogun State, scored 372 out of 400 marks to top the 2026 UTME chart.

According to the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Jesudunsin applied to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos as her first-choice institution.

Her score is three marks lower than the top score recorded in 2025, when Anambra-born Chinedu Okeke scored 375 marks.
