APC Accuses Atiku of Engineering PDP’s Internal Crisis

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has attributed the disintegration of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the political desperation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement on Tuesday, criticised Atiku for blaming the ruling party for the internal turmoil within the PDP and opposition parties at large.

Atiku had, during a national conference on strengthening democracy in Nigeria, accused the APC of influencing judicial decisions and undermining opposition parties.

However, Morka dismissed Atiku’s claims as baseless, stating that Atiku’s tenure as Vice President (1999–2007) saw some of the most controversial elections in Nigeria’s history.

He accused Atiku of attempting to rewrite history, reminding Nigerians that it was under the PDP’s administration that elections were described as a “do-or-die” affair.

Morka also rejected Atiku’s allegation that President Bola Tinubu was bribing opposition leaders with ₦50 million each, calling it a desperate and unfounded claim.
