Ribadu: Tinubu Has Reduced Nigeria’s Security Threats

National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, says Nigeria has become safer under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, with major security threats significantly reduced.

Speaking at the APC National Summit marking Tinubu’s two years in office, Ribadu stated that the administration had inherited five severe security crises but had made substantial progress in addressing them.

He listed the challenges as Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, IPOB agitations in the South-East, Niger Delta unrest in the South-South, and farmer-herder conflicts in the North-Central.

Ribadu revealed that oil exploration will soon resume in Ogoniland, Rivers State—nearly 30 years after it was halted due to insecurity.

He added that over 13,543 Boko Haram fighters had been neutralised in the past two years, with over 11,000 weapons recovered and more than 124,000 insurgents and their families surrendering.

The NSA said coordinated efforts by security agencies had also curbed attacks on government institutions and improved safety in regions previously plagued by instability.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma praised the administration’s handling of national security and reaffirmed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
