Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday officially presented the certificate of appointment and staff of office to Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade, marking his formal installation as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo.

The ceremony, held at the Government House in Agodi, Ibadan, was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, government officials, and enthusiastic indigenes of Oyo.

While presenting the insignia of office, Governor Makinde described the new Alaafin as a leader committed to preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the Oyo Kingdom.

“The Alaafin of Oyo is not just a traditional ruler but also a custodian of a rich history and tradition,” Makinde said. He expressed confidence that Oba Owoade would rule with wisdom, integrity, and a dedication to the unity of the Oyo Kingdom.
