Nigeria’s renowned striker, Victor Osimhen, has put speculations to rest regarding his future with Napoli. The current top scorer in Serie A, playing for champions Napoli, shared his plans during an interview with CBS Sports at the Super Eagles’ AFCON 2023 camp in Cote d’Ivoire.

Osimhen addressed the swirling rumors linking him to the Premier League, acknowledging the allure of the English top-flight. However, he affirmed his commitment to finishing the current season with Napoli before disclosing his next career move publicly.

“The Premier League is one of the biggest leagues globally, and it’s flattering to be linked. But my focus is on Napoli for now. I’ve made my decision about the next step in my career, and I’ll reveal it at the end of the season,” Osimhen stated confidently.

Despite reported interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, Osimhen, the reigning African Player of the Year, recently extended his stay at Napoli by signing a one-year extension. Having played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph in 2022-23, he currently sits on eight goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.

While the Premier League beckons, Osimhen’s immediate priority is aiding Nigeria in the ongoing AFCON. As the Super Eagles face the runner-up from Group C in Saturday’s round of sixteen, Osimhen remains focused on helping Nigeria progress further in the tournament.
