‘Your Failure Is Certain’: Oluyede Sends Stern Warning to Terrorists

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has assured Nigerians that terrorists and other enemies of the state will be decisively defeated.
He made this declaration on Sunday at an interdenominational church service held in Abuja as part of events to commemorate the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).
Reaffirming the army’s commitment to Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Oluyede stated: “We shall never depart from our honour, which is rooted in our faith. We will remain true to the Nigerian Army’s motto: ‘Victory is from God Alone.'”
He warned those attempting to undermine Nigeria’s democracy and security: “Your failure is certain. Your threats are empty.”
Oluyede emphasised continued collaboration with other security agencies to effectively deliver on the army’s mandate.
Reflecting on the army’s 162-year history, the COAS said NADCEL provides an opportunity to honour the resilience and sacrifice of Nigerian soldiers and their families.
He said the church service and accompanying Juma’at prayers symbolise the army’s reliance on faith, morality, and discipline in its operations.
“We are here today to thank God for His mercy and to seek His continued protection as we work to secure our nation,” he said. He urged Nigerians to support the military in its efforts to maintain peace and security.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, his wife Mrs Oghogho Musa, and other senior military officials also attended the service.
