An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has discharged Miss Comfort Emmanson of charges of unruly behaviour and assault brought against her by the police.

On 11 August, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami had ordered Emmanson’s remand in a correctional facility for allegedly assaulting flight crew on board an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.

At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, the magistrate struck out the five-count charge after the prosecution formally withdrew the case.

Prosecutor Inspector Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that new developments had necessitated the withdrawal and presented a written application, which the court granted.
