Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed strong confidence in securing victory in the Aug. 15 governorship election, as he inaugurated a 52-member campaign council in Osogbo on Tuesday.

Adeleke said the move marked the formal commencement of his campaign for re-election under the Accord Party.

“I am already feeling the cloud of victory around me, my team, and our political party, the Accord. I am confident of victory and the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading for victory.

“My spirit tells me that our party, the Accord, will be declared winner by wide margins,” he said.

The governor described the inauguration as the beginning of a renewed march towards electoral success, drawing parallels with his 2022 campaign.

“Today marks the beginning of our march to victory on Aug. 15. I hereby inaugurate this campaign council to the service of continuity and delivery of good governance,” he added.

The campaign council will be chaired by Wale Oladipo, a former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sen. Lere Oyewumi will serve as Director-General of the campaign, while Kolapo Alimi has been appointed Deputy Director-General, alongside other members.
