Panic in Ojodu-Berger as Building Collapses, Traps Residents

Five people were rescued on Saturday morning following the collapse of a building in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos.

The building, reportedly housing a local restaurant, collapsed around 8 a.m. on Oremeta Street, triggering an emergency response.

Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, told journalists at the scene that rescuers aimed to “get to ground zero” as they continued to search for other possible victims.

At the time of filing this report, it remained unclear whether any fatalities had occurred. Rescue operations were still ongoing.
