Lagos APC Governorship Candidate Hamzat to Unveil Manifesto on October 30
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Lagos State in the 2027 elections, Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat, will unveil his manifesto on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The Director-General of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kadri Obafemi Hamzat (PBAT-KOH) Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, announced the event at a press conference held at the campaign office in Ikeja.
Obanikoro said the manifesto launch would take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu, Lagos.
According to the campaign council, the event will run from 3 pm to 5 pm, with guests expected to begin arriving at 11 am.
Owing to the venue’s seating capacity, attendance will be strictly by invitation. However, the event will be broadcast live on major television and digital platforms, including Channels Television.
Obanikoro said the campaign was built around two core principles: continued shared progress and inclusivity.
He argued that building a stronger Lagos required preserving the development master plan initiated in 1999 under Bola Tinubu and subsequently expanded by the administrations of Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode, and the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“Continuity is not about doing things the same way simply because they have been done before.
“It is about protecting what works, correcting what needs improvement, and building on existing progress,” Obanikoro said.
He also stressed that inclusivity remained a priority, adding that no Lagos resident should be left behind, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, or social status.
The campaign director-general highlighted Hamzat’s experience in both the private and public sectors.
He said Hamzat, popularly known as KOH, earned a PhD in Systems Process Engineering from Cranfield University in England at the age of 28. Before joining the Lagos State Government, Hamzat worked with global financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Citibank.
He subsequently served as a commissioner in Lagos State three times before becoming deputy governor.
The campaign council said it had already conducted extensive consultations with traditional rulers, religious leaders, market traders, youth groups, professionals, and artisans across the state.
“Following Friday’s launch, digital copies of the manifesto will be made available for public download,” Obanikoro added.
He encouraged residents to study the document and submit constructive feedback and suggestions through official party channels, saying this would help promote grassroots participation in the state’s future development.
