Corps Members to Receive ₦77,000 Monthly Allowance from February – NYSC DG

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will start receiving a monthly allowance of ₦77,000 from February 2025.
He made this disclosure on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.
Ahmed confirmed that the increment, approved by the Federal Government and included in the 2025 budget, will take effect once the budget is passed.
“The Federal Government has already approved the increment in your allowance. This is no longer news; we have the official approval. The only thing left is the passage of the budget.
“Since January has already ended, once the budget is passed, from next month (February), you will start receiving ₦77,000 instead of the usual ₦33,000,” he stated.
The DG urged corps members to steer clear of misconduct and negative behaviours that could jeopardise their future aspirations.
He emphasised that diligence, honesty, perseverance, and faith in God are essential for a successful life.
Additionally, he advised corps members to respect the customs and traditions of their host communities and integrate quickly after leaving the orientation camps.
Brigadier General Ahmed further encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to their host communities by initiating personal or group Community Development Service (CDS) projects that would improve living standards in their assigned areas.
