DisCos Collected ₦570bn in Q3 2025 – NERC

Electricity distribution companies (DisCos) collected a total of ₦570.25 billion in the third quarter of 2025, reflecting improved revenue performance across Nigeria’s power sector, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The commission said the amount was recovered from ₦706.61 billion billed to electricity consumers during the period, indicating stronger revenue recovery under existing tariff and billing frameworks.

NERC disclosed this in its third-quarter report released on Tuesday in Abuja, which provided official data on revenue collection, billing efficiency, and performance trends among electricity distribution companies nationwide during the period under review.

According to the report, the 80.70 per cent collection efficiency recorded in the third quarter represents an improvement over the second quarter of 2025, when DisCos achieved lower levels of revenue recovery across the electricity market.

In the second quarter, DisCos collected ₦564.71 billion from ₦742.34 billion billed, translating to a collection efficiency of 76.07 per cent. This marks a 4.63 percentage-point increase in revenue recovery by the third quarter.

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company recorded the highest collection efficiency at 100 per cent. Eko, Benin, and Abuja DisCos also exceeded 80 per cent collection efficiency, while Kaduna DisCo recorded the lowest performance nationwide, with a collection efficiency of 45.67 per cent, according to the report.
