Zenith Bank Plc has been named “Nigeria’s Best Bank” at the prestigious Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025, securing the country’s top banking honour.

The award, presented on Thursday, 17 July at The Peninsula Hotel in London, recognises Zenith Bank’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to customer value in Nigeria’s financial sector.

Commenting on the win, Group Managing Director/CEO, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, said, “This award reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence and the trust our customers place in us. Our mission goes beyond banking—we are committed to supporting economic growth and upholding the highest standards of integrity.”

She dedicated the award to the bank’s customers, staff, the Board of Directors, and the bank’s founder and Chairman, Jim Ovia, CFR, for his visionary leadership.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are globally recognised, with the 2025 edition attracting over 770 entries from top institutions such as HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, Barclays, and DBS.

Zenith Bank’s growing reputation has earned it numerous accolades. In 2025 alone, it was ranked Nigeria’s Number One Bank by Tier-1 Capital for the 16th consecutive year by The Banker, and received Global Finance’s Best Bank in Nigeria award.
