First Lady to Tinubu at 73: You Are My Knight in Shining Armour

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid tribute to President Bola Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, describing him as her “knight in shining armour.”

Her message was not just a romantic gesture but also a testament to their enduring partnership, strengthened by shared ambition and unwavering support.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu marked the occasion with prayers, seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s challenges, including national stability, peace, and the protection of lives and property.

Tributes poured in from notable figures across various sectors, recognising Tinubu’s leadership and governance. Those who sent goodwill messages included former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In her message, the First Lady praised the President’s courage, strength, and resilience, which she credited as key factors in their shared success.

She wrote: “I rejoice and thank God Almighty for His faithfulness in your life over the years. I celebrate your courage, strength, and resilience, which have contributed to who we both are today. May you live long in divine health, joy, peace, and prosperity. Happy Birthday, Mr. President—my knight in shining armour.”

President Tinubu, speaking after observing two Rakat Jumaat prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja to commemorate his birthday, reaffirmed his commitment to national unity and progress.

“I prayed for our country to stabilise, to be at peace, and for the protection of all citizens,” he told journalists.

Reflecting on his birthday, Tinubu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for his life and the fulfilment of his prayers.

“I feel good, I feel happy, and I give thanks to Almighty Allah for protecting me and continuing to answer our prayers,” he said.

He also reiterated his dedication to serving Nigeria, stating, “Hard work and prayers are essential. That is the inspiration I draw from this occasion.”

Earlier, at the National Mosque, the Imam, Professor Muhammad Kabir Adam, welcomed Tinubu and thanked him and the First Lady for their generosity towards the underprivileged during Ramadan.

Similarly, the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, Dr. Abdulkadir Salman Solagberu, commended Tinubu for his various donations and support initiatives during the fasting period.

“Muslims across the country have been praying for the President’s success in tackling Nigeria’s challenges and for his long life and good health,” he stated.

Citing a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Imam emphasised the importance of charity, especially during Ramadan, urging continued support for the needy.

The President dedicated his birthday to spiritual reflection, reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and prosperity.
