Mohbad: Naira Marley and Sam Larry Granted N20 Million Bail
A Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos State, has granted bail to singer Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry. They have been given bail in the amount of N20 million, with a requirement of three responsible sureties.
Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two others were arraigned and remanded on October 6, on charges related to their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was popularly known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun issued specific bail conditions, which include surrendering their passports and obliging them to make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.
Furthermore, Magistrate Olatunbosun warned against any direct contact regarding the case: “Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.”
The arrests of Naira Marley and Sam Larry followed their return to Nigeria after being linked to the death of the late rapper Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. Social media videos had circulated, depicting Sam Larry physically assaulting Mohbad, while other videos showed individuals suspected to be acting under the orders of Naira Marley attacking the late rapper.
