Zenith Bank Pays ₦51.3bn Interim Dividend, Reaffirms Position as Top Dividend Payer
Zenith Bank Plc has paid a total interim dividend of ₦51.3 billion to shareholders for the Half Year (H1) 2025, representing ₦1.25 per share.
The payment, made on Friday, 10 October 2025, marks a 60% increase from the ₦31.4 billion paid in H1 2024 — a clear demonstration of the bank’s strong performance and commitment to delivering consistent shareholder value despite economic headwinds.
The dividend followed the release of the bank’s audited financial results for the half-year ended 30 June 2025, which showed a solid growth trajectory and robust balance sheet.
Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, said: “We are pleased to have paid this significant interim dividend to our valued shareholders. Our half-year results underscore our resilience and commitment to stakeholders. Based on the momentum achieved in H1, we are confident in our full-year outlook and expect to exceed shareholders’ expectations by year end.”
Zenith Bank recorded a 20% year-on-year increase in gross earnings, rising from ₦2.1 trillion to ₦2.5 trillion. Interest income surged by 60%, from ₦1.1 trillion to ₦1.8 trillion, driven by strategic repricing of risk assets and efficient treasury management.
The bank’s total assets grew to ₦31 trillion in June 2025, up from ₦30 trillion in December 2024, supported by a well-structured and resilient balance sheet. Customer deposits also rose by 7%, from ₦22 trillion to ₦23 trillion within the same period.
