#ThisIsNotMyResult: JAMB to Review 2025 UTME After Outcry
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an immediate review of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) following widespread complaints from candidates and parents.
In a statement released by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB acknowledged an “unusual volume of complaints” since results were published last Friday.
The Board said it was accelerating its annual post-examination review — typically conducted months after the UTME — due to concerns raised across the country.
“We are particularly concerned about the complaints coming from certain states. We are scrutinising these reports to determine if any technical issues occurred and will respond accordingly,” the statement read.
Dr Benjamin noted that the review would cover all three stages of the UTME process: registration, examination, and results.

To ensure thorough scrutiny, JAMB has engaged a team of independent experts including members of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, heads of tertiary institutions, educational assessment specialists, and vice-chancellors.
“If we discover any technical faults, appropriate remedial measures will be taken, just as we do during the examinations themselves,” the statement added.
The review follows mounting public criticism and a potential class-action lawsuit by affected candidates. Many reported experiencing incomplete questions and sudden system crashes during the computer-based test.
The controversy intensified after JAMB disclosed that over 1.5 million of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the exam scored below 200 out of a possible 400.
The revelation sparked a nationwide backlash, with the hashtag #ThisIsNotMyResult trending across social media. Many users alleged that technical errors, not poor preparation, were to blame for the low scores.
